Wedding Barberstown Castle Story
Wedding Barberstown Castle
Alison & Phil’s Castle Wedding at Barberstown in Co.Kildare can only be described as the best of the Irish and Canadians coming together for a feast of the century. What great craic!! Once the Canadians discovered Guinness: show over :D LOL
Preparations
With everything happening on the morning of their castle wedding, there was a hive of activity in Barberstown Castle. It’s always easier getting bride & grooms readying shots when both are in the same place. The light that morning was great, so kept flash to a minimum allowing me to get natural light photos as much as possible.
Ceremony
Alison & Philip’s civil ceremony took place in the light filled conservatory of the castle, enjoying the backdrop of the 13th century castle. Exchanging vows in front of the fireplace which luckily due to the glorious summers day needn’t be lit.
Photos
Once all the formalities were out the way we headed to get their photo session done. Outside in the garden by the beautifully decorated tree we started the family photos and groups portraits so that their guests could go on enjoying the lovely weather with a drink in hand.
We moved around to the castle side of the grounds where the light was streaming through the trees. Getting the bridal party photos was a laugh and a half. The Canadian groomsmen sure knew how to get a giggle from the bridesmaids, making for some great candid laughs.
Dancing
The dancing went down a storm with Pink Champagne entertaining the guests well into the early hours and keeping the vibe going. Once I had a few photos of the first dance and the following 4 songs of the evening I packed it in knowing I had the shots I needed in the bag.
