Barberstown Castle Wedding Story

Preparations

My morning started at Paul & Pauline’s house, the parents of Emma. From the get-go, they made me feel at home, always a lovely way to start a day of work :)

My main goal was to get as natural shots as possible without directing too much. The light in the kitchen was lovely so not much need for flash. The bookcase made for an interesting backdrop to few of the photos. We gathered outside for a few family photos in the garden, which you can see is the pride and joy of her parents, it was simply beautiful. Emma wore a gorgeous dress from B Couture with some much intricate detail, it really made the photos.

Ceremony

At the church, a short bought of panic set in with the lads, having forgotten the rings, but this was quickly fixed, luckily for Eric (the groom). The church at Kimmage manor parish was set up in a way I haven’t experienced before, a long wide aisle, with all the pews facing inward. This made for some interesting photographs of the congregation. Father Ralph Egan, delivered a moving ceremony. I don’t usually mention priests in my blog posts, but he made a huge impression, so there you go :)

Reception

Arriving at Barberstown castle hotel in Straffan, Co. Kildare. I got a few photos of guests settling into the surroundings and moved onto family and group shots along with cake cutting before going with the newlyweds for their photo session.

I kept it nice and short for them, so they could go enjoy the company of friends and family.

The dinner bell rang, everyone gathered outside for the big group shot and I was off home, leaving them to enjoy the rest of their special day.
