Cliffs of Moher Wedding Story
Sarah & Skip’s Cliffs of Moher Wedding was so much fun to be part of. The weather was miserable, but everyone was such high spirits that the drama of the weather only seemed to add the excitement rather than a be threat.
I made my way to Doolin from Dublin that morning to meet Sarah & Skip for the start of their wedding. The weather that day was not great, to say the least, with rain falling horizontally, it looked like a backup plan would have to be thought of pronto.
They had stayed in Galway city the night before and were making their way to Doolin, but due to the weather were delayed somewhat. This delay turns out was actually a Godsend. By the time they arrived, the sun had started peeking out from behind the clouds, and although the wind was still strong, the landscape had turned into a somewhat more gorgeous backdrop to the starter photos of them.
After a few photos in Doolin, we made our way to the Cliffs of Moher visitor centre to meet their celebrant, David.
The Ceremony
Having had a look at the original location for the ceremony, the decision was made to have the ceremony by the small tower by the cliffs, which would offer a wind shield and shelter. A lovely short and sweet ceremony, with heartfelt sentiments.
I’ve always loved photographing the Cliffs of Moher, and have had the pleasure of documenting a few weddings there.
