Portaferry Hotel Wedding Story
Naomi is an ex-colleague of mine. When she approached me to photograph her Portaferry Hotel Wedding I was thrilled.
She is probably the easiest bride to have worked with, which you probably wouldn’t have said during the working days :) I know she’ll kill me when she reads this.
Preparations
The day started at her family home up in Northern Ireland, where the girls were furiously getting ready for the big day. The weather was a bit gloomy, but seemed to hold out for most of the day, if not just a little on the chilly side, but that didn’t dampen the spirits.
Ceremony
The small church in Ardglas was a lovely setting for the ceremony, with loads of natural light flooding the interior, I could photograph without using flash. Simon (the groom)’s father led the ceremony as he was the local priest, which made for a lovely intimate, personal ceremony.
Reception
Afterwards, we headed to the local golf course right beside the church for a few photos. It just so happened to be right on the seaside, with the beautiful rugged coastline, made for some spectacular moody images.
The local pub was the next stop, just in time too as the weather had turned a little, giving us a small downpour. Warmed up nicely at the pub and made our way to the reception venue, stopping along the way for a few more beach shots at sunset.
The ferry at Strangford took us across to the other side where the Portaferry Hotel was the location for Dinner and party Portaferry Hotel was the location for Dinner and party.
I got a few shots of guests mingling, families and cake shots before finishing up for the dinner call.
