Civil Wedding Osprey Hotel Story

Civil Wedding Osprey Hotel

Preparations

Our day started at Catherine’s mum’s house for the preparations before the ceremony. Catherine was upstairs getting hair done while we set about capturing some photos of the shoes and flowers. The dress was ready to be photographed, so while hair was still being done, we moved the dress to the hallway where it could be photographed. I always like to include a story into images, it gives an extra dimension to a photo, I think the dress photo worked well with this.

With hair and makeup were done and detail shots out the way, Catherine was ready to step into her dress. We joined Catherine and her mother Susan when the final touches were done and got some lovely shots of them interacting.

Ceremony

It was time to head to the Osprey Hotel for the start of the civil ceremony. Guests were arriving and filling the room to await proceedings. Time to get a few shots of the groom, Declan and the lads before it was time to get ready for Catherine’s arrival.

The ceremony was led by Gabrielle, from A beautiful ceremony, which was really personal to the couple, including some readings from friends and family.

After the ceremony, Susan had a secret event planned for the couple, so everyone was led to the main courtyard in the hotel for the releasing of the doves much to the amusement of Finn, their little 4-year-old.

Rception

The family and group shots were done shortly after while we were all in the courtyard before moving back into the hotel for some photos with the couple alone.

We moved up to the bridal suite where they could have a few minutes to themselves while everyone made their way to the dining room for the meal.

The speeches followed the meal, along with the cake cutting and finally moving on to the first dance.

Thanks to Catherine & Declan for allowing us to be part of your special day.
