Summerhill House Wedding Story

Suzanne & Paul’s Summerhill House wedding: Another one of those perfect wedding days that don’t come along often in Ireland. The weather was absolutely beautiful for April, which made for some great shots on the day.

We started at Suzanne’s house for some preparation photos and family portraits to get those done early on, as Suzanne wanted the day to be more relaxed with more interaction with family and friends.
We moved on to the lovely church in Templeogue, St Jude the Apostle which is just a lovely place for a photographer. The whole interior is just bathed in light, making for some easy shooting. With a very relaxed informal atmosphere, the ceremony went smoothly.

We made our way after to Summerhill House Hotel in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow, which was another well-chosen location by the couple. A lovely old estate on the edge of the town made for a relaxing location for guests to mingle. The band on the day was a latin sounding 5 pieces with some great classics with a modern twist.

We started with some informal shots of family and bridal party out in the gardens of the estate which let a natural backdrop to the photographs. With weather playing along nicely in the afternoon, we could take our time and let the couple enjoy time in between shots to chat and mingle with guests. This made for some nice natural unposed photos along with a few posed formal portraits.

I made my way around the house, getting a few reportage photos of guests before everyone got called for dinner, signalling the end to my day.

I exited leaving them to enjoy the rest of their evening.
