Today I photograph a Wexford wedding in the small town of Gorey, in the north part of Wexford, Ireland. The wedding takes place at the Amber Springs Hotel where a civil ceremony, dinner and dance is planned.
I meet Paul from Crystal clear video productions at Sinead, the bride’s preparation suite, where the girls have already started the makeup and hair. We grab a few stills and video of the details, flowers, shoes and Bridal gown so that we have those in the bag by the time Sinead and the girls are ready to get dressed. Spirits are high with loads of laughs and not many nerves beforehand.
A few last minute shots of the girls before heading down to the ceremony room to catch up with Alan (the groom) and the lads to photograph them bantering between each other.
It’s a short ceremony with a few lovely words and laughs from friends and registrar making for so really interesting photographs to look back on in years to come before we’re led down to the drinks reception.
The entertainment comes from a trio of Ukelele players while guests mingle and enjoy treats while we head off to do the group photos and couple shots, before heading back to join the guests just in time for dinner call.
Paul and myself whip together the video/photo slideshow (seen below) to play to the guests just after the speeches. This always goes down a treat as the guests can have a look back on some of the moments during the day.
Once the dancing starts the night really kicks off with everyone joining in. I grab some photos during the first 4 dances and head on back to Dublin.
