Radisson Blu Wedding Story

Preparations

On arrival at Angela’s family home, I was greeted by the huge beaming smile of little flower girl Aoife. The house had very ornate decorations which lent itself as really interesting backgrounds to my photos.

Colours on the day were bold and beautiful, my job was to translate that into some memorable photos for the couple. I started with the bridal details, capturing photos of the shoes, flowers and dress first so that they were free to be used to get ready.

Angela and her mom are really close, I could see there was a close bond as she was helping Angela get ready.

The room had a lovely light filtering through the windows, which is always great for me as that means I can get the shots without using flash, which can sometimes be intrusive.

Once finished Angela made her way down the stairs where we took some photos of her and the bridesmaids.

We were just about ready to leave, just a few more shots with her and her father outside, waiting by the limos ready to take everyone to the church.

I made my way the “Our Lady of Good Counsel church catch up with Nando and his family. I had just got the photos done when Bridesmaids arrived with Bride and father in tow shortly after.

Ceremony

The procession was led by the adorable little page boy and flower girl to start the ceremony. The church is vast and tall, beautifully decorated. This was the second wedding I’ve photographed here, it never disappoints.

Once all the vows and rings were exchanged, the register signed, we made our way out so the couple could be congratulated by their guests.

I had one request from the mother of the bride, who was married in the same church, to reenact a photo that they had taken back on their wedding day of the family. It’s always touching to be able to fulfil something like that for a family.

Reception

We made our way down to the Radisson Blu Hotel in Stillorgan for the reception.

The venue is really large, I got lost a few times trying to find the dining room :)

I got the cake cutting photos out the way early on and moved on to the family photos.

The vast gardens at the back of the estate are the perfect location for the family photos. The building lends a really majestic backdrop to the photos.

I had just enough time to get a few of the families and then couple before dinner bell beckoned the guests.
