The wedding at Fitzpatrick castle was a lovely small intimate civil ceremony. Friends and family had travelled from the UK to attend.
I headed up to Vicky’s room first to get a few photos of preparations and details first. The room had an amazing view overlooking Dublin Bay and a lovely view of Dun Laoghaire.
Clare Hogan the makeup artist had just finished up with the girls before I arrived. I’ve worked with Clare on a number of occasions, always professional, relaxed and a true perfectionist in her craft.
I started with detail photos first of Flowers and shoes, moving on to the dress. The room had some really nice details – a nice mix of modern and old, which gave interesting background to the shots.
The girls started getting ready which gave me an opportunity to get some lovely photos of them interacting.
Once I was satisfied I had all the photos I needed I gave the girls some space before the big moment and headed down to Kiran and his family’s room to catch the lads getting ready.
With banter flying between the brothers, it really made for some energetic, fun filled images. Everyone was at ease and very down to earth, didn’t feel at all like there was a wedding ceremony only minutes away.
The ceremony was short and sweet, with everyone gathered to witness the union between Vicky and Kiran. When vows and rings were exchanged, we all made our way to the drinks reception.
With a chance to wet the whistle, I quickly set up the area for some family photos of smaller groups, before heading out to photograph the larger groups of families. There are some really lovely details in the venue to stop and get a few artsy photos for the album. The photo below is a lovely example of this, just love the mood this image has.
I really love windows, and always take the opportunity to use them if there is a nice scene to play out.
Even though it was a little chilly on the day, we managed to get a few lovely photos by the gazebo before ducking inside again.
Rings are always a treat to photograph. With these photos, I used ice-filled glasses as the backdrop to the rings, with the black & white lending a really timeless mood to the photographs.
Please enjoy some of the photos from the day in slideshow form, set to some lovely music. If you like to leave some comments down below feel free to do so. Enjoy
