Finnstown Castle Wedding Story

Finnstown Castle Wedding

With the weather on either side of this Finnstown Castle wedding not looking great, what a lovely surprise it was to find the day had turned out gloriously calm and bright.

Preparations

The morning started at Gemma’s family home with makeup and hair being taken care of as I arrived. When I pulled up to the driveway, I realized that only a year ago I had covered a wedding 2 doors down of the lovely View the blogpost from Emma & Eric’s wedding :) I love when I get recommended by lovely folks.

Pat the videographer was already there capturing the clips for the DVD.

The dress, shoes and flowers are my go to starting point to get those details before they are used, this gives the bride freedom to get ready without me holding up the proceedings.

The house was beautifully decorated and lit, which lent itself to some great photos of the preparations = happy photographer :)

Once I had all the shots I needed to complete the preparations story I moved on to the church at the Kimmage manor parish where guests were just arriving.

Ceremony

It wasn’t before long when the bridesmaids arrived followed by the bridal car with the bride and her father.

The ceremony was short and sweet with lovely readings from friends and family.

With the rings and vows exchanged and register signed the couple made their way to the exit to be congratulated by their guests.

The family and group shots were down at the church on the bridge with a lovely green backdrop of trees.

Reception

At the Finnstown house, the couple had a chance to wet their whistles before making our way to get their bridal session out the way. The grounds were fantastic for the photos, with so much variety, we weren’t short of options. With that out the way, the couple could go back to mingle and be entertained by the magician who had everyone entertained and puzzled by his tricks.

I spent the rest of the evening getting details shots at the venue along with photos of the first dance when the band kicked off.

Thanks to Gemma & Graham for allowing me to be part of their day.
