Knightsbrook hotel civil wedding in Trim, Meath

From the first consultation with Rachelle & Cormac, I could tell this was going to be one fun wedding to cover. Really easy going and up for a good laugh.

Having booked the double package of photo and video, myself and my trusty side kick, Paul of Crystal Clear video productions jumped right into action at Knightsbrook hotel in Trim Co. Meath. Rachelle & the bridesmaids were up in the room kicking back and enjoying a bit of down time after hair & makeup when we got there, so we started getting the detail shots of dress, shoes and flowers before turning our attention to the hustle and bustle starting to kick off as the time drew nearer to the big moment.

The room was filled with laughter and excitement, so catching some exciting shots was really easy for us.

We made our way down to the ceremony room to catch up with the lads who were in great form and full of banter. John, Cormac’s son was ring bearer (mini best man) was taking his job very seriously, and ready for his big moment.

The ceremony was a Humanist ceremony, set in romantic lighting with various special moments that led through the event, including a sand ceremony, which saw Bride, groom and son pouring various coloured sands in layers, binging them together.

With rings and vow exchanged, the couple led their way out the room to be greeted and congratulated by their guests.

We decided to get the family portraits done first so their guests could go and enjoy the day. The main staircase makes a great backdrop, allowing for large groups to gather.

We took the bridal party around the hotel for their photographs.

Its a familiar venue at this stage having covered a number of weddings here over the last few years, which makes it interesting to create something new for couples with every visit.

The girls wanted a similar photo to Bride’s maids the movie poster and the lads had superhero t shirts which made for some very entertaining shots.

We ventured out for a quick shoot, as the wind still hadn’t died down enough and still felt a little chilly, so staying outside wasn’t an option.

The cake was setup for the cutting shots. It’s an interesting cake, having 2 sides 2 it: one the usual wedding cake with white frosting and a flip side had a rock theme, allowing a sweet shot and a bit more alternative cake cutting photograph.

On route back to the main lobby for the dinner call, we got a few more of the couple alone, creating a nice moment for the 2 to relax in and get some nice black & white photographs.

By the time we got back to the lobby, the guests were gathered for the large group photo which I usually take from the top of the balcony.

We’d promised the couple a nice slideshow which would play during the dinner, so I set into action getting the photos together and edited for the slideshow, please see below for a sample of the video.
